As a young woman, I struggled with acne, which took a toll on my confidence and self-esteem. I would choose to hide my face because I was ashamed of the imperfections scattered so blatantly. I didn’t like the way it looked or felt, I was uncomfortable in my own skin. I sought out help from an esthetician. She taught me how to take care of my skin and showed me which types of skincare products suited me best. My complexion transformed over time and my true skin was revealed. I regained confidence and felt empowered by my ability to change my skin and the way I felt.
